Obituary of Faith Michelle Mayo Gibbons
Faith Michelle (Mayo) Gibbons was born on August 19, 1976 in the Bronx, New York. The youngest daughter of Joe L. and Julia H. Mayo. Beloved mother to David, Michelle, Yancy, Jr. (aka “Junior”) and Faith, II (aka “Lil’ Bit”).Domestic partner, Elvay Wiley. Sister to Cheryl Cooper (Anthony), Jack McDaniel (Nikell), Dana (Una) Mayo, Edwin (Jasmine) Mayo and Steven Mayo. Beloved Aunt to Joshua, Lydia, Charity, Zipporah, Jessica, Jason, Nicholas, Christopher, Niya, Chace, Kaleb, Dakari, Nukiya, Edwin Josiah (aka EJ), Jahlijah and Kamil. Great Aunt to Elleona, Marleny, Jonathan and Helena Cooper; Nigel and Caleb Mayo. Beloved niece to W. Clyde Davis (Sally), Cousin to Dwayne E. Davis. Ava Davis, and Johnathan Forde, all of Chesapeake, VA, Grandniece to Verna Trotman, Baltimore, MD, and a host of cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her grandfather and grandmother, William C. Davis, Sr. and Louise Davis; her brothers, Bruce W. Mayo and Antonio L. Mayo; and her cousin, Lisa M. (Davis) Forde, all of Chesapeake, VA.
She attended Far Rockaway High School in Far Rockaway, New York and Business Informatics Center, Nassau, New York; graduating with an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science. She worked at Academy Distribution Center in Jeffersonville, GA. She was devoted to her children, family and friends. Faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The family will greet friends one hour prior at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Sunday, May 5, 2024. A repast will immediately follow at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
