Olivia Reed

Obituary of Olivia Elaine Reed

Olivia Reed was born February 3, 1952 in Harlem, New York to Clarence and Elizabeth Reed. She was affectionally known to many as "Liberty". She received her formal education in the New York School System. She later received her college degree at the City University of New York.

Olivia decided to leave the Big City and relocate to the south and she ended up moving to Georgia, where she found her forever home. She was hired as a 911 operator with the City of Macon Police Department, Macon, GA, where she worked and retired after 20 years of service. After a brief retirement, Olivia discovered a new passion and began working as a Residential Manager for adults with special needs at Wesley Glenn Ministries, where she also retired with 20 years of service. Her love for God and her zeal for learning, led her to pursue a Master's degree in Theological Studies and become a Registered Family Therapist.

Olivia Reed joined the Greater New Hope Ministries Church in 2006 under the leadership of Bishop Marshall L. Graham. She was a prayer warrior, a faithful tither and giver and faithful in attendance. She was instrumental in organizing the Food Bank Ministry, and served faithfully on the Mother Board, Prayer Band, Women's Prison Ministry and as a member of the Greater New Hope Ministries Inspirational Gospel Choir. She worked untiringly to win many souls to Christ during her years ministering in the Women's Prison Ministry. She was also a proud member of the Georgia Peach Red Hatters Society, which she joined in December 2017.

Mother Olivia Reed will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Patricia Owens (Steven), New York City, NY; two sons, Robert Reed and Patrick Campbell, New York City, NY; four grandchildren, one great grandchild; one sister, Diane Reyes, New York City, Y; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her church family.
