Byron, GA- Ronald Lewis Bohnstedt, 74, passed away on May 6, 2018. A memorial service will be held May 11 at 5:00pm at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A celebration of life will be held June 2 at 4:00pm at Shiloh Cemetery, where Ron was Caretaker.

Ron was born on July 21, 1943 in Everett, Washington to people not worth mentioning. In spite of his upbringing he forged his own way as a businessman and a father. Although he had a ninth-grade education he was probably smarter than you. He loved video poker, putting miles on an old Chevy, building things, tipping with $2 bills, and lending a helping hand. His day wasn’t complete if he didn’t frustrate a handful of people. He was ornery, stubborn, dedicated, selfless, and loving. His generous spirit meant he would give a stranger the shirt off his back. His sense of justice meant he wouldn’t hesitate to picket a business. Ron’s gruff, often-imitated voice belied his caring nature. His children knew he did the grocery shopping if there was chocolate milk in the fridge.

Ron was preceded in death by infant son, Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Nadja; children, William (Carla), Erika (Terry), Cynthia (Kyle), Timothy (Leah), and Mark (Jenn); 11 grandchildren; and numerous family friends.
