Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Following the services, Mr. James will be laid to rest in Byron City Cemetery.

Byron, GA-Malcolm Wallace James, 89, passed away on the morning of May 18, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Following the services, Mr. James will be laid to rest in Byron City Cemetery.

Mr. James was born May 9, 1928 in Florence, AL to the late Edward and Ira Belle James. After attending college he went to work as a superintendent at a fertilizer plant which he did for many years. Mr. James was a jack of all trades and loved to build and work with his tools. He was known for building houses, barns, and shops. He had a great sense of humor and loved cutting up with friends and family. He was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Church of Christ Hartley Bridge Rd. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Jessie Joyce James and two brothers.

His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Jean Carter James; three children, Edward James (Sandy); Rebecca King (Richard); Jonathan James (Bambie); two step-children, Danny Carter (Nancy); Tommy Carter (Rose); 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
